Der Grünen-Verteidigungsexperte Nachtwei erklärt im tagesschau.de-Interview, warum die Grünen die US-Militäroperation "Enduring Freedom" ablehnen. Andererseits hätten sich inzwischen die US-Politik und die europäische Strategie in Afghanistan angenähert.

Nach der Veröffentlichung der Skandalfotos von Bundeswehrsoldaten äußert der verteidigungspolitische Sprecher von Bündnis 90/Die Grünen, Winfried Nachtwei, im Deutschlandradio die Befürchtung, dass es nun zu schweren Ausschreitungen in Krisengebieten durch eine Instrumentalisierung der Fotos kommen könne. -> zum Interview

In der heutigen Ausgabe der Frakfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung (FAZ) richtet Winfried Nachtwei einen eindringlichen Appell an den Bundestag, über der Libanon-Debatte den Afghanistan-Einsatz nicht aus den Augen zu verlieren. Immerhin stünden derzeit erstmals in der Geschichte im Süden Afghanistans Nato-Truppen in Bodenkämpfen. Der Einsatz „steht auf der Kippe und droht wegzurutschen", sagte Nachtwei.
